Another day, another strange bondage apparatus for Babs. This time I had to be careful not to mess up her new 'do. Fluorescent zip ties were the answer. She was dangling in our main pavilion where everyone hung out, so the sign was just a precaution.

The sculpting process is over, time to paint. First a layer of copper spray paint. Morgan was nice enough to help out. (It's his figurehead, after all.) If you notice that I look like I'm straining a bit--I am. I never weighed her, but with all those layers of clay, Babs is no lightweight. She's one heavy girl, and there's no easy way to get a handhold on her. This was actually a fairly difficult step, and my hands shook for some time afterward from holding her at such an awkward angle for so long.

Normally my next step is to paint the doll using a nice crackling medium, but the only one I could find didn't work the way I wanted. That means that the coppery layer was kind of wasted, but it was good to get the doll all one color before I started painting in earnest.
