Cutting out the tail fin shape inspired an impromptu Yosemite Sam impression.

I'm told that I'm quite out of my mind for doing scales this way, but I always have. I like to make them all individually. On a small mermaid, this has never been a problem, but I had to agree with the assessment that I was crazy, once I got going on Babs. The tail scales took the better part of two days to put on.

And most of that two days was spent with her poor head clamped tightly between my knees while I worked. Not much fun for either of us, believe me.
