Today the guys started framing out the greatroom. You'll notice that they look a lot warmer today than they did last week. That's because a mere three days ago it was around 30 degrees, not including the wind chill, and today it was nearly 70. They are much happier campers, and hopefully this trend will continue. They seem like nice fellas, and I've felt rather guilty for having them working on our house in the freezing cold. I'm sure they really appreciate spring's arrival, belated as it may be.

Wrestling the corner beam into place. Seconds after I took this photo, the guy on the left accidentally let his grip slip, and there was a moment when I thought all three of them--the two guys and the beam--were going over the edge.

These beams are not screwing around.

The other bedroom wall also went in today. There are some enormous windows upstairs. It's definitely a good thing that there are woods all around, because I'm stumped as to what kind of window treatments I'd be putting in if we had to block them off from the view of the neighbors.
