This is not a photo. This is an abstract rendering of my thoughts today, when I asked the heating guy how things were going and he answered bluntly, "Not good." He went on to say that there were a number of things unfinished on the geothermal unit, and that he didn't know when they'd be able to come back to fix them. I told him, panicked, that our inspection was in two days. He gave me one of those blank looks, and for just a moment I was able to clearly see the inside of his skull, with its one neuron bouncing madly around inside, looking for something to run into.

Fortunately, his boss showed up a few minutes later and explained that the missing items were not a problem, that they were already scheduled to come back tomorrow and that everything was still on track for our Wednesday inspection. Apparently I shouldn't be asking the lackeys for information. Of course, it's not their fault that I'm overstressed, sleep-deprived, and nearing homicidal.

The other good news is, this is STEAMY water coming out of our faucets. The geothermal may not be quite hitched up yet, but they were nice enough to turn on the water heater. I figure the final obstacle between me and that bath is the fact that numerous people still have keys to the house. I think I'll wait until we have them all back before I finally take the plunge.

Oh, speaking of plunge--we took all the samples for a water analysis today. We'll soon know if our wonderful well has decent water, or massive levels of arsenic and radiation and stuff.

I'm jumping around a bit in photographic subject matter. This is one of two shelves in my studio for me to put many many boxes of costume stuff.

I love my shelves. They're about ten feet long and a little over two feet wide. They're also extremely strong. I could do chin-ups from them, should I ever feel motivated enough to do a chin-up.
