Today when we arrived at the site nobody was around. Probably the workers took off early for the weekend. Can't blame them.

An odd sight greeted us when we walked in. Evidently there is a pvc mating ground in our billiards room. Yesterday--nothing but sawdust, today--pvc joints out the wazoo, all lined up like a little plastic army preparing to march.

And then there was this--shavings everywhere, and big holes carved into many of our walls. It can only mean one thing:

...We have a rabid beaver infestation.

(Or maybe the plumber has arrived...)

On another note, we have proudly installed our mailbox. This may mean nothing to most of you but for some reason, it was oddly thrilling for us.

Today also marked the first day that all of the windows were in. We now have a fully sealed house. I couldn't help but notice how different it felt. It was so quiet--no wind, no outside noises. Almost like home.

Kind of an eventful afternoon, all things considered...
