Craig and I had a free weekend, since we didn't move in as planned, so we spent Saturday working on the yard. Craig built us a very cool walkway and steps. The path is made from the four hearthstones from the woodstove that was in the dome. It was nice to be able to make use of them this way and bring something forward from the original dwelling.

We also scavenged flat rocks from all over the property and he made a great set of sturdy steps. Who knew he was so talented at stuff like this??

We have a few stone walls that look a little mangled from where we stole their tops, so I plan to find some more stones and make the necessary repairs. The walls won't have the perfect flat tops that they had originally but they'll still look nice, and we won't break our necks on uneven stairs.

I ran around picking up supplies, finding and lugging rocks, and seeding the lawn. I have no idea how well I did getting everything even. We'll see in a couple of weeks if the grass comes up in stripes.

We're both pretty stiff and moving slowly this evening. I have a feeling that tomorrow we'll be sucking crushed aspirin through straws, but we're really excited about how everything looked when we left.

If only the hot tub were ready!! If the hot water had been hitched up, we'd still be there now.

Random subject change. For the last four months or so, I've been practically a daily visitor to the Home Depot in Rochester. I've considered renting a room there. The greeter at the door knows me by name.

It's about a fifteen minute drive from Dad's house.

This is a brand new Home Depot that's being built in Somersworth, about a five minute trip from Dad's. I hope you can see the irony here. My theory is that they'll open for business the day we move.

Oh well. The Rochester store will be more convenient to our new home, and at least I know it really well. I should apply for a job...
