New bedroom wall. According to the builders, this week they will finish framing out the roof on the top levels, and then start working on the greatroom next week. You can see the structure in place for them to walk around to place the roof supports.

Today I watched Mike blithely scale the peak on the right to check a measurement at the top. I'm pretty sure there's very little there to get a foothold on, but it doesn't seem to slow him down.

More wood was delivered today. All you folks who think it's been a while since we've had a good delay will be happy to know that it actually arrived yesterday. The truck broke down at the entrance to our road and had to be towed back lumber and all, leaving the builders to "twiddle their thumbs and polish plywood" as they put it.

In their defense, it looked to me like they were working pretty hard, so I certainly can't find fault.

The ultimate in customer convenience! The truck even delivered to the second floor. This was a snap compared to the job of backing it down our driveway, which has become a pit of mud and ruts deep enough to swallow a small vehicle.

I've taken to parking in my neighbor's lot when I come to visit. I hope they don't mind. Nobody ever answers the door when I knock to ask permission. So either they're not home, or we've got them really scared.
