Now it's got its basic coat of paint. He's planning on doing more details as time goes on, but he's still working on exactly what they'll be.

Big sis brought her sewing machine for a couple of seams. It was a fairly easy job to do the outer hems, but the tent seam down the middle takes three people. One to feed the fabric through, one to sew, and one to catch.

Here we are, draping the canvas for the first time. We quickly learned that it's a pain to try to drag the fabric up and over the spines, even with a person inside. It's much simpler to lay it out on the ground and roll it from both sides to the middle. Then it can just be laid on the center pole and unrolled, so it falls neatly to each side.
